Zelda 2

I remember a lot. And a lot of it comes up in random spurts. Lately, there is an episode with my aunt that keeps coming up.

Way back, sometime after super Mario Bros. 2 came out, I got my first Nintendo. We had rented one that summer, and after returning some Christmas presents that did not work (I am looking at you electronic Battleship), my mom decided to get it.

Now, my dad, even back then, took note of some of the big names. Never played them, but he took note. That’s how we rented Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. I just thought it was cool cause of the gold case. All my other games were grey.

Have you ever been around a baby? I mean consistently through year 2? Well, I do not know if I can say consistently, but at least regularly. After all, the current one that I have had the pleasure of knowing and watch grow is not mine, but a niece.

Heathcliff!

My wife and I have been watching The Cosby Show of late. As in Bill Cosby in one of the biggest TV shows of the late 1980′s and early 90′s. Before that it was Two and a Half Men, and TCS is much different than my old favorite, Married with Children. The thing is, even though the show is based around the situation of a family, it seems to be built on something more.

What he was….and is…..to me.

The mind is something that has fascinated me for a long time. Think about all that we can do. All the art of its various types. Music. Mathematics. Science. Stories. Philosophy. Faith. Everything we strive to be starts in the mind. And I had a master craftsman in the form of my uncle. His carpentry work was spectacular, and it was something to behold. From his carpentry, and my parent’s commitment to work, I grew up with a sense of pride in working and in working hard. That inspired me to try in my studies.
