Forgive us our trespasses

Yesterday, I wrote about a current day and how changing the way that I looked at things helped the situation and improved the day.  There have been other days that…did not go so well and lead me to a different place.

There is a reason that as a Christian, I am uncomfortable in a church setting.

Hey, I’m still here.

Working on a few things, just not posting them yet.  One is going to be a personal journey through a kind of rebirth.  Van Halen’s Different Kind of Truth.  The other, a trip through the underworld.  Its just…..not quite there yet.  Give me a tick, and I’ll show you what I got soon.

…..to get out of the rain.

I had an idea yesterday.  See, one reason why I started this blog was a moment after a conversation at work with a coworker.  I remembered pictures that I had taken in that parking lot of the sunset, clouds, and other things, even back when I was just a customer.  See, a long time ago, I hated the place where I would eventually work.  My blood pressure shot up, or had to anyway, just walking through those doors.  And it was not the place where I am working, just any of them.  And then I calmed down.  Evidence to the contrary aside, I grew up.  And that lot had some moments that were serene in otherwise troubled times.

I even told a lady, who responded to negatively to me as a representative of the company, of a tale that caused me to feel that way in the first place.  I understood her ire.  I really do.  Because that used to be me.  And now, I’ve been behind the wizard’s curtain (a la the grand Oz), and I even have a deeper connection to the comings and goings of the place.  I feel as the customers, but I also feel as the employees, and I try to have a little of both in my own comings and doings.  And tonight’s coming and doings happened as the sky blew up.

So, An Aunt and a Nephew Walk into a Pawn Shop…..

Aunt and Nephew walk into pawn shop.

Pawn Shop Guy (Female): Hello, welcome to PwnWorld, where we PWN your stuff!

Nephew: Clever.

PSG(F): Wish you’d thought of it.

N: sigh. This is why the schools should have allowed ebonics instead of e-text-onics. Alright, here’s what we got.

For everything…a season….

This thoughts started in a conversation last night.

“K, you need to pray, and seek God.”

“The time for prayer is over. We are here, and we have to do something.”

Creation…And End

This is the year 2012. Another big doomsday year.

I am currently reading a book that is, in a brief statement, about creationism. The author is very much a scientist, and is arguing for the biblical standpoint of a creator using scientific means. I am still in the introduction and setup chapters, and I can say that I like his approach. I have a hint at what may be to come, but more than a bit of what he is talking about is far from my mind in my thoughts about evolution and creationism. So at the very least, I think I am going to enjoy the ride, especially since this is a heavy read. High language, deep vocabulary, and professional. That kind of thing. One should expect no less than that from a college professor.

The thing is, I am not a creationist, and I am not an…evolutionist. I am an in-between-ist. Just made up and copyrighted by me. As of now. You owe me 5 cents just for thinking about it.

The Last Caveman

“General. He’s here.”

I had never seen the general like this before before. He stood taller than the rest, prouder as well. But there was something…something there, and not there. The violence and sureness were gone, replaced by…something that made him more terrifying. And he was walking right towards me. The wood in my hand cracked, as I quaked with fear.

“Careful with that spear, boy. If it breaks, you won’t be able to rely on it. And then they will break you, over it.”

His words scared the fear out of me. I relaxed my grip.

“Is there anything to report, boy?”

He took a step past me, not even glancing my way.

“Sir, he’s down there, and he’s talking.”

A Lost Razor Leads to an Empty Wallet

A long time ago, outside of an AT&T store….

K: Well, here we are.

W: Ok, so what are you going after.

K: A phone.

W: What type?

K: One that is not a flip phone, and is big enough for my fingers.

W: Just say it.

K: Say what?

W: iPhone. When you got your last Razor, you said you wish you had gotten it instead.

K: Yeah, but they are pricey.
